Easel Birthday Card Featuring Dress Up Marci

This Birthday card was made for my sister Terri.  I used LaLa Land Crafts "Dress Up Marci" stamp.  All their stamps are so cute, it's hard to choose.  I really copied the entire layout of this easel card from Irina Blount, owner of LaLa Land crafts.  She posted a tutorial of the layout of this card using Irish Marci. Her card was gorgeous.  What talent!  She also used the fence die cut which I didn't have so I replaced it with the stamp version. The flag banner, scallop edge, grass, and folding banner die cuts are also from LaLa Land Crafts.  Marci is colored with copic markers except her pearls which is A Wink of Stella GL clear.  You can't see it in this picture but it gives the pearls a subtle glitter.  I will definitely be creating more of these cute little cards.

Entry for Papercrafts 2013 Stamping Royalty Contest

I entered this contest for the second year in a row.  This is a 4x4 easel card format that I found on LaLa Land Crafts blog. 

Of course I did not win this contest but it was fun to create.   It gave me the opportunity to try out the new Wink of Stella markers. You can't see in these pictures but the markers have a bit of sparkle.  Love them!

 

During the Spring break, I took my daughter and her best friend to NYC to celebrate her best friend's birthday. We had lunch at Alice's Tea Cup, which was fantastic, then shopping.  While shopping, I snapped this picture of my daughter and just loved it. 

I fell in love with Little Yellow Bicylce's "Swoon" collection and just had to use it.  So, here it is:  hope you like it.

Family Vacation - Splash

This family vacation took place in 2007.  It was our second trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos.  I seem to use Little Yellow Bicycle whenever I create vacation layouts.  Yes I waited that long to get the pictures in my scrapbook.  I have been waiting for the perfect paper and embellishments to get started.  I love the pictures so much.  Well, it hit me the other day while going through my "Stash" that the Splash line by My Little Yellow Bicycle would be perfect.

Paper Used:

1. Background = Makin' A Splash
2. Green Panels =  Lime Solid (left 5 1/4"/Right 4 3/4" wide)
3. Orange Stripe = Tangerine Solid (1/4")

Pictures on the left are 4X4
Pictures on the right are 4X6

All embellishments - Little Yellow Bicycle Splash Collection (with the exception of the small piece of green raffia on the tag)

CROPPED , The Mystery Box Challenge Event

Well, I decided to participate in Megan Elizabeth's (from Above Rubies Studio) Mystery Box Challenge Event.  It is going to be lots of fun.  Each participant purchased a box full of items to be used in 5 challenges during the event.  Here are my first two!

Challenge #1

Create a Card using the stamp technique in the "My 123 Stamp" DVD and materials from the Mystery Box.  The sample Sunset Card inspired me to create a sort of spooky Halloween night sky with the blending ink method.  I enjoyed this challenge because I learned a new technique and loved the result.  I used ColorBox pigment ink for the sky and StampinUp dye ink for the pumpkins. I also incorporated the technique using the two different color inks on one stamp (you can't see it that well in the picture) on the pumpkins.  After stamping the pumpkins, I cut them out and added Glassy Accents for a little shine.  I used the Cricut Chic & Scary cartridge for the Tree and Bat and the Happy Hauntings for the HeadStone.  The Spiders and Pumpkins were "Stamps by Judith."   

Challenge #2

Using all 9 blocks on a sheet of Paper Layerz, create 9 mini scrapbook layouts.  Also, you must use the matching sheet of Paper Layerz to create embellishments for the mini layouts.  Here I used photos of my children coloring Easter Eggs this year.  I used one sheet of Paper Layerz for the base and the other sheet to create the geometrical shapes that I put the pictures on in each square.  I added some fun flowers and labels.
